Taster Day preview
Preview to the Pickup Truck Racing 'Taster Day' at Rockingham -Sunday 20th November
The 2011 'Taster Day' is at Rockingham this Sunday.
The interest in the Pickup Truck Racing 'Taster Day' has been outstanding not only from the existing teams but also from those drivers and teams currently not involved in Pickup Truck Racing but would like to find out more about our exciting championship
Over ten existing teams have said that they will be attending including a few new drivers who already have trucks ahead of the 2012 season. Many of these teams will be fitting an additional seat into their trucks and they will be using the day to take team members and sponsors for the 'ride of their life' as a thank you for their support during the season.
Also in attendance will be at least eight drivers having 'taster' sessions in the #69 truck of Lee Rogers and the JFF Motorsport truck of Stuart Annibal. These drivers have taken this opportunity to find out more about the championship in a view to possibly joining the grid in the future. The 'taster event' is a great way for potential new drivers to obtain further information by talking to the existing teams and the championship management, to drive one of the trucks and to find out for themselves how friendly and approachable the Pickup Truck Racing teams and management are.
At the time of writing, 'Taster' session places are still available. If you have a genuine interest in finding out more about the pickup trucks and would like the opportunity to sample a truck, please contact DEAN ROGERS on 07970 387 765 or more details can be found in the 'NEWS' tab on this website.
This years 'taster drivers' include short oval racers from F2 Stock Cars, Super Rods and National Hot Rods as well as circuit racers from production saloons, Ginetta's and even one driver with previous experience racing on the ovals in America and a lady racer from a well known short oval racing family!
The track day is being organised by Book-A-Track and the pickup truck racing teams are paying guests. The on-track action starts at 8am and will continue until the light fades.
Finally, The Chocolate Pizza Company (www.thechocolatepizzacompany.co.uk) have kindly supplied a pizza to win as a prize in the 'Taster Day TASTY DRAW' with all proceeds going to this years Children In Need appeal. The response from the teams at the recent awards night was really generous with over £240 of tickets sold although we still hope to sell further tickets at the 'taster day'. Although the tea and coffee refreshments will be complimentary, it will come at a 'cost' of buying some tickets for this great cause..........'you have been warned'...............the girls will find you!
Entry to this event is FREE and we would very much like to welcome the pickup truck racing fans and anyone with an interest in the trucks to come and say hello. |
