Dale Gent believes he has nothing to lose and everything to gain going into the Pickup Truck Racing Championship season finale at Brands Hatch on October 31-November 1.

Gent – who lifted the coveted title in 2024 – heads into the final event of the season sitting third in the standings, 22 points behind championship leader Aaron Thompson and 19 points behind second-place man Allen Cooper.

“In a way the pressure is slightly off for myself,” said Gent. “It is very tight between the two ahead of me but I’ve obviously got some ground to make up.

“Ideally we need them to have at least one non-finish to make things a little easier at Brands Hatch. Being third, I’ve sort of got nothing to lose and everything to gain – and that will no doubt make it exciting.”

Heading into the campaign as one of the championship favourites, Gent has proven to be a regular front-runner throughout the year, with the series veteran wracking up a total of three wins to-date.

“We’ve had some good results – especially the wins – but on the whole we have struggled for pace at times,” he continued. “We’ve been working to close that deficit and hopefully we can get on top of it and come out the blocks flying at Brands Hatch.”
